A Free Stay for Bastille Day – in Paris, Sip a Pink Soup in Vilnius and Get the Update on the Migration Quota Reduction
From sipping cold pink soup at Vilnius’ iconic festival to securing a free stay in Paris for Bastille Day, and navigating Lithuania’s migration quota changes — here’s everything you need to know this summer in Europe.
1 Lithuanians LOVE “Pink Soup” – Served Cold
Pink Soup
The Lithuanian Pink Soup Day is celebrated during the Vilnius Pink Soup Fest, which is scheduled for May 31st, 2025.
This festival celebrates the traditional Lithuanian cold beetroot soup known as šaltibarščiai, which is made with kefir, cucumbers, pickled beetroot, and dill.
The event includes various activities such as a pink soup walking competition, a costume contest, and a pink soup parade, among others.
The festival is organized by Go Vilnius, the city’s tourism agency, and it aims to promote Lithuanian culture and cuisine. The event has been well-received, with over 42,000 people attending in 2024.
While the soup is enjoyed in many Eastern European countries, Lithuanians take particular pride in their version of the dish, which they see as a symbol of their national identity.
The festival also features a pink-themed city, with special offers and discounts at museums, attractions, shops, and restaurants throughout Vilnius.
“Apparently, the best cure for a hangover, honestly, I’ve never had one bad enough to make me want to try it!
I’m also told it’s delicious in summer, and very refreshing.. Everyone here loves the stuff, and the city goes nuts for the festival. So maybe one day.. maybe..”

Our BCP Apartment in Paris is Free For Bastille Weekend
With Bastille day, fast approaching, and our expansion to France well underway, I thought we should reach out and let you know that the new company apartment we have secured in Paris is available for a couple of nights over the Bastille Day celebrations.
If you are already an existing client, or if you get your application underway to become European before 14 July, you’ll qualify to enjoy the accommodation on us!
We’ll even throw in a bottle of wine, not that you’ll need it, the streets will be awash with the stuff!
To learn more, just reply to this and we’ll see what we can do to lock something in for you.
We do of course, only have the one apartment in Paris, ordinarily used for clients visiting us there to complete their migration applications, so the offer is on a first-come-first-served basis.
Bastille Day is great – Paris comes alive with street parties, fireworks, parades and spectacular scenes.. not to be missed!
3 Latest Change to Migration Rules in Lithuania: Quota Reduction
Latest Change to Migration Rules in Lithuania
Lithuania introduced a new quota for Working migrants on 1 January of this year.
There are exceptions to the quota, so it hasn’t adversely affected too many of our applicants yet. Having said that it’s worth noting that the quota has recently been reduced further.
These minor changes, can have major repercussions down the track.
What we have noticed at the migration department downstairs, when we take our clients through our VIP Gateway to Europe program, is that the team at Migration there have become remarkably busy of late.
Last year, we were able to get an appointment for a biometric visit for clients usually with one or two days notice. These appointments are now booked two or three weeks out.
The main reason being most people are bringing their application deadlines forward, to make sure they get considered under the current quota, before we hit the cap and everything is automatically rejected.
We continue to advise clients thinking about getting European residency at some point in the next few months, to do it sooner rather than later. Locking your residency application in under the old rules, guarantees future changes won’t affect the application.

4 Our First Bit of Local Media
Sydney. Baltic Capital Partners is helping local businesses expand and tap into Australia’s relatively underexplored market
We were approached a little while ago regarding a mention in the Baltic times magazine.
It seems the locals have started to notice bus loads of well healed Australasians turning up to explore Vilnius.
As I’ve said here many times, I love what we do. We get to meet amazing people, and help them on amazing journeys.
We do this in part by securing them visa free access to 27 countries, through a European Residency in under four weeks. As the article states, this is a real win/win.
The Baltics are benefiting from some innovative business ideas and investment, while our clients achieve something in under a month, which they previously expected to dedicate the best part of a year too. While of course, saving a bunch of money.
It’s a little flattering being in print, but of course our “target market” is Australasia, so the chances of any of our clients coming across this magazine at the dentist are pretty slim! I’m taking the chance then to share it with you electronically, via the Baltic Times website.
As I’ve said here many times, I love what we do.
We get to meet amazing people, and help them on amazing journeys – a little print around that can only be a great thing.
